As previously mentioned, we retired early with the idea of travelling as much as possible when and while we could. It’s just as well, because last year (2016) I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer, metastasised in numerous parts of my body including brain! (‘Terminal’ as the medical profession told me). Not in our plans as you can well imagine!

Not being a conventional woman, I’ve chosen to go for alternative therapies although I did have some initial ‘Palliative’ radiation. My treatments of choice are: Medicinal Cannabis (which is now legal in the state of New South Wales (NSW) Australia), Essiac, an Alkaline diet, L-Glutamine, Super Barley Green, Vitamin C and Slippery Elm.

It’s early days yet, but I have a good appetite, I’m not nauseous and I can function most days (if my MC dosage is right 😜). My pain management is mostly Paracetamol and / or Panadine), So, so far, so good!

Naturally our travelling has come to a grinding halt but I’m very hopeful that with time, I’ll be well enough to resume my life where it left off.

While there aren’t many recent posts of late, I’m sure you’ll be able to find some new location to you.

Hi, I’m Sonia, thanks for stopping by.

So, a few years back we were retrenched and thought, ‘What the hell, let’s retire early and travel while we are fit and able’ and that’s what we’ve been doing ever since!

Last year (2015) we did a big seven months trip in our caravan around Australia. I loved our amazing country!

We’ve also visited Germany, Austria, Russia, The Netherlands, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, New Zealand, Spain, France, Italy, Canada, Hawaii, Greece, Turkey, Malta and Bali. This year we have a couple of overseas trips planned, so you’ll get to hear about them too.

I love having reached the stage in my life that some call middle age or Senior. For me, it feels as if my life is just beginning. One thing I’ve found since retiring; I don’t know how I found time to work!

The aim of this blog is to show you places of interest that we’ve visited or came across. You might have visited the same locations yourself, but you know, there are so many variables; seasons, sunny days, festivities, floods, cloudy days and draughts to name a few. ‘Same, same but different’ if you know what I mean 🙂

My passion has been for many, many years landscape photography so it made sense to marry travel and photography and create this Blog!

I normally do just two posts a week, one on Wednesdays as a Hump Day Post and the Weekly Photo Challenge over the weekend by way of sharing my travels with you. As most of us are time poor, I keep writing to a minimum and give you links to locations where possible – if you’re interested, otherwise, enjoy the visuals!
