Daily Prompt: Fly on the Wall

If you could be a “fly on the wall” anywhere and at any time in history, where and when would you choose?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us SNEAKY.

If I could be a ‘fly on the wall’ at any time in history, I’d like to have been on the wall of   the great Philosophers who roamed the earth.  I’m talking about Socrates, Aristotle, Plato and Tao to name a few.

Imagine being on the wall at their discussions, looking at life through their eyes, with their thoughts and ideas. Imagine having their depth of insight, how much wiser we would  be.  I’m sure we would  live more in the ‘moment’ and less ‘elsewhere’.

I wonder how they would see the world now. Would they still hold the same philosophies or would they have new ones for the changes the world have made? Or, would they think we’ve all ‘lost the plot’?

I leave with a quote from Socrates:

‘The greatest way to live with honor in this world is to be what we pretend to be.’

About Retired2Travel

My passion has been for many, many years landscape photography so when the chance came up to retire early, in order to travel, I took it! It made sense then to marry the two (travel and photography) and create this blog. I hope you enjoy it :)

I’d like to be there on the wall when such great philosophers converse. Even I wonder at times if they’d hold onto the same philosophies and principles after living for a day in ‘this’ world! Nice post! Keep writing. 🙂
